Generally speaking, your Conditioner should give you the moisture you need to stick to a weekly masquing routine, but it’s always best to watch how your hair is responding and adjust from there. For example, if you have fine hair, applying a mask more than once a week may weigh hair down.
There are two ways you can use an AURA Masque.
Option 1: Apply your Masque on dry hair. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then rinse.
Option 2: After you’ve shampooed and conditioned, squeeze any excess water from your hair. Then, apply a generous amount of your Masque from midlength to ends. Let your Masque absorb into strands for 10 minutes and then rinse out.
Absolutely. All of our Masques are safe for color-treated hair. If your hair is overprocessed, we recommend including color protection as one of your main goals in our Quiz. This will ensure your formula is extra-focused on color protection.
We do offer semi-permanent pigments that are designed to fade over time. Our Pigmented Masques are designed to transform or enhance your hair color, while our Pigmented Conditioners help to maintain your desired color over time. Semi-permanent pigments are temporary hair colors that we can add to your Masque that will wash out over time. Adding a temporary pigment to your Masque can help you enhance your current hair color with a Classic shade, try a Fantasy shade, or choose a Neutralizer to offset unwanted warm tones.

Applying your Pigmented Masque is simple and includes options. You can apply your Pigmented Masque to clean, towel-dried hair or hair that’s completely dry.
Once your hair is clean, put on the gloves provided with your Pigmented Masque. Section your hair and work your Masque through each section from roots to ends, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse, and you should see an instant color transformation or enhancement.
